There once was a girl who went to college at a little school tucked away in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. She loved Jesus, her friends and family, and adventure.
She graduated and returned home, spending time as a substitute teacher, working with a local youth group, and acquiring a cat. But then she felt the wind of movement and found herself living back in Southwest Virginia working with children with autism. Having no previous experience or known desire, she stuck it out, but eventually shifted to working with special ed. students...a little less physically demanding...and yet still ministry called.
Then when a career switch back into the ministry didn't pan out, the girl found herself back home, but this time working at the International Spy Museum, as an interactive tour guide. She loved meeting so many new people and the energy and excitement of D.C., but knew God wanted her elsewhere...so she packed up her cat and moved into the back of a church. But this didn't go so well, and a few months later she moved home for what she thought would be the final time...
Home was good this time around. Four generations in one house, grandparents nearing 80 down to a nephew turning 1. But the call of ministry started getting louder and the girl knew she couldn't ignore it. When the opportunity came to get involved in a new church plant, she dug in and six months later was leading worship as they opened the doors to the public. But as things began to take off, she couldn't shake a desire to build a foundation and to learn...which came in the form of a little worship school in Colorado. So once again she packed up her little car, and this time leaving the cat behind, and headed for bigger mountains to follow Jesus into the unknown.
The girl knows not what comes after this, but does know that God is in control and that greater things are yet to come....
